Wow, can you believe it? It’s almost the start of the second half of 2010 and with that our nation’s birthday. Where does the time go? I bet our fore fathers thought the same thing don’t you? Maybe they were thinking about getting home and to take off their scratchy and probably stinky wigs they’d worn all day. I can just image the smoke coming out the top of those wigs as they wrote the Declaration of Independence. We can trivialize all we want, but if we got back to the importance of independence, perhaps our nation would have a happier birthday to celebrate.
I don’t like to get political, but it is our nation’s birthday right? Maybe just a few comments are in order. What’s happening to our country anyway? America the beautiful shouldn’t be taken for granted. With each news story regarding the so-called overseers of our great country I ask myself…..Have they truly lost their way and forgotten the real meaning of why they are in Washington? Are they there to further their own careers or are they there to make America stronger? I don’t care which side of the aisle you resonate with, both sides seem unreasonable and stalemated to the process of the people for the people by the people. I don’t recall it reading of the politician for the politician by the politician.
I do have faith in this great beautiful country. Happy Birthday America. Raise the red white and blue this fourth of July and celebrate the independence that we can never take for granted. Freedom is nothing to ever take for granted. Perhaps a good read for the day would be The Declaration of Independence.
Enjoy the Holiday …….. Happy Birthday America!!
